Scoliosis

Scoliosis - Better Health Channel  -open

Scoliosis is an abnormal sideways curve of the spine. The cause is usually unknown. Surgery is recommended in severe cases. Mild scoliosis generally does not need treatment. However, severe scoliosis is painful and debilitating and tends to worsen with age. An orthopaedic brace may be used for children prior to adolescence.
